THE
GOAL:
V.I.P.
is one strategy in a bottom up Velvet Revolution of collaboration and
cooperation already expanding one person at a
time and one community at a time. The Virtual Independent Parliament will convene forums and chat
groups on the relevant issues concerning community building with an eye
toward supporting grassroots actions to create “a more perfect union
(society).” The purpose of
the discussions will be to explore the potential for citizen
participation in solving the varied concerns of society in a local and non-governmental format.
Society
in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state,
is
but a necessary evil...Society is produced by our wants, and government
by
our
wickedness;
the
former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our
affections,
the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices.

Toward this end, new collaborative communities will self create
to carry out the goals of deconstruction and renewal, by providing more democratic mechanisms and institutions to serve the needs
and aspirations of all members of society. With
V.I.P.
members operating at a level of empowerment, it is hoped that society
will slowly regain the reins of power, through the transfer of sovereignty
back to the people.

The vision, then, is a parliament of citizen leaders, officiating in ad hoc collaborative
communities, which will evolve into a self-generating,
self-regulating organic democratic republic.
The resulting system will be synergistic and not hierarchical, it
will resemble the organic organizational structure below, which
mirrors how society self assembles.

- This self governance model
can contribute a framework for forming an alternative organic
self-organizing and self-replicating social system.
Towards a bottom up governance means to free us from the
top down hierarchical model that has proven to be a structure of
oppression.
